This is a game-table top that can be placed on any appropriate base such as cement columns. It can be used indoor or outdoor depending on the material used for the base.
The design depicts Ra, the Creator, in his aspect of Khnum, the ram-headed God of the Cataract. He controlled the inundation of the Nile, thereby bringing lift to Egypt. This interpretation of Khnum is from a sandstone pillar found in a shrine on Elephantine Island (c. 1397, B.C.).
The
hieroglyphics under his feet read: "I will be made successful on earth and in the underworld."
The other side of the table portrays Osiris. He presided over the judgment of the dead in the Hall of Two Truths. The inspiration for this interpretation of Osiris is from a funeral papyrus from the The Book of The Dead, (c. 1290, B.C.).
The
hieroglyphics under Osiris translates: "I am in the presence of the great gods."
