Peter O’Sullivan believes that art should and can be a part your daily life. He works on pieces that satisfy his own creative inspirations and he also enjoys using his ability and skill at interpreting and illustrating conceptualized ideas so that he can do custom work for clients. He can take your idea or thoughts and turn it into a work of art that will grace your home or business and satisfy your need to personalize your environment.

Peter creates contemporary pieces that capture the flavour of antiquities. The materials he uses and his artistic style and applications evoke a sense of mystery and romance with a feeling of the past, but have the strength and quality of the here and now. Whether it is for outdoor or indoor installation or to be used in residential, architectural or commercial applications, his intention is to create art that becomes a part of your daily life. He removes the velvet ropes between you and the work of art and makes it not only beautiful to look at, but also tries to make it functional and affordable. Whether you choose one of his finished pieces or he works with you and creates a piece that fits your desires and your budget, you will have a unique and distinct piece of art gracing your surroundings.

Peter resides in Connecticut with his wife and his journey into the world of art was a bit unconventional. He began at Pace University and followed that with the study of Graphic Arts at New York University, Photo Journalism at The School of Visual Arts and Commercial Photography at The Germain School of Photography in New York City. His subsequent employment at The Frick Collection and then Sothebys in New York City introduced him to the world of fine art on an intimate level. This ultimately became his professional focus and personal passion.

He has illustrated and written a children’s book and he is an art dealer in 19th Century European paintings, although his soul is probably more in the collecting than in the buying and selling. He has also done custom, etched glasswork for commercial and residential applications including restoration work for a 1930’s theatre preservation project.

As an artist, he enjoys researching, creating and applying his art in various mediums. His work is limited only by his imagination and sometimes by a lack of time. A constant creative thinker, he is always experimenting with new ideas, mediums and concepts.
